2025 Foundation Programme (FP)

The Foundation Programme is a two-year, work-based training programme intended to bridge the gap between medical school and specialty/general practice training.

Applications for the 2025 UK Foundation Programme will be accepted from 25 September 2024 at 09:00 (BST). The application window will close on 09 October 2024 at 12:00 (BST).

Late applications will not be considered under any circumstances.

UK medical schools will nominate final year students to apply and the UKFPO will nominate applicants who have been deemed eligible via the eligibility application process.

Nominated applicants from UK medical schools will receive an email on 17 September 2024 asking them to confirm their nomination and register for an account on Oriel.

Applicants who applied through the eligibility process will have already registered on Oriel as part of that process. Eligibility applicants do not need to re-register. They will be able to log in to Oriel and access the application form from 25 September 2024.

Foundation Priority Programmes (FPP) can be applied for in the last part of the main FP application form (there is no separate application form for FPP).
